Bring Her Back

I hate to admit it, but I didn't really care for this one.

Bring Her Back may be a mature feature that explores strong themes involving loss and grief, but that emotional depth gets overshadowed by the surprisingly bleak tone, the incredibly gross horror, and the depressingly dark subject matter.

So, while I'm glad that the filmmakers made a drastically different film than their last one, I can't deny that Bring Her Back is much harder to watch compared to something like Talk To Me.

Thankfully, the film is anchored by an impressively talented cast. Sally Hawkins especially delivers a wonderfully deranged performance.

It's just a shame that, for as good as the cast and the other technical details actually are, the film didn’t really work for me personally.
