Peacemaker (Season 2 Premiere)

The premiere episode of Peacemaker season two is a lot of fun!

While every project in the DCU has - at this point - been created by James Gunn himself, I am glad that we’re back in this little corner of the DC universe specifically.

Though, the fact that the episode didn’t explain how or why the season could be canon to the DCU while the first canon is still canon to the DCEU, did leave me a bit disappointed. Especially since the episode immediately jumps into some multiversal shenanigans. 

I thought these shenanigans were going to explain that Peacemaker could jump from one universe to the other, and while that is technically true, it also has nothing to do with the old DCEU.

So, it feels like the old continuity is part of this weird fever dream; that some things are still in canon, but most other things are just going to get hand-waved away. Which I do find to be a little annoying, but not enough to detract me from the overall story being told.

And since I am interested in seeing how this story will affect Peacemaker as a character, I think this episode makes for a compelling return-to-form for the series.
