Win or Lose is the first original television series produced by Pixar, which tells the story of a coed middle school softball team as they approach their big championship game.

And I thought this series was pretty damn good! Because, as is the case with most Pixar projects, Win or Lose tells a relatable and heartfelt story that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike.

But what makes this particular series so special is how each and every episode focuses on a completely different character of the softball team. This allows the audience to view the same events or interactions from several entirely different perspectives. And I had a fun time seeing how these events would be re-contextualized, especially when they would give a seemingly obnoxious or superficial character some much needed depth .

Plus, each change in perspective was reflected with a new, unique visual style, which allowed every episode to distinguish itself in some fun and creative ways; we get to see every character's inner turmoil through the use of some clever and inventive animation. And these animated metaphors allowed the series to explore surprisingly mature themes like anxiety and self worth, while maintaining a lighthearted sense of humor and whimsy.

Meaning that, Win or Lose is an emotionally complex series that has a fun animation style to boast. Sure, the episodes may be a little short, and the finale may not give every story the proper closure that it deserves, but that does not take away from how impressive this series is overall.

And since this is a fun little show that teaches us about the importance of perspective, Win or Lose would definitely get a recommendation from me.
